Hello readers! Thank you for visiting The Web of Jam! I’m Jam, a 26-year-old navigating adulthood while embracing my inner child. Currently, I work as an English teacher in China, a journey that began when I followed a girl I met in England as she moved back to her home country.

As a passionate writer with a journalism degree, this blog is my way of nurturing my creativity and sharing my unique experiences. My deep love for Spider-Man (hence the ‘Web’ in my domain) and storytelling drives me to engage readers through words.

Here, you’ll discover original stories—mostly featuring Spider-Man—that capture my imagination. I’ll also share reflections on my life, including the experiences that have shaped me, such as my journey as a stroke survivor, my travels, and the lessons learned along the way. Additionally, I’ll highlight projects from my university that I’m proud of.

Until last year, I hadn’t left home, and my life was pretty much confined to my bedroom, lost in my own thoughts. That all changed in 2022 when I experienced a stroke, an event that reshaped my perspective on life. Before the stroke, I lacked passion, confidence, and drive; I was a quitter who didn’t believe in myself. But that moment of crisis opened my eyes to the life I was letting pass me by.

Now, I’ve traveled to four different countries and call China home! I became an English teacher here because it was the only job I could secure, given my lack of real-world experience in journalism. I never imagined I’d take this path, especially after my dislike for high school, but life has a funny way of leading us where we need to be.

As the second youngest of four, I’ve always been surrounded by family. I have two older sisters and a younger brother, with my oldest sister blessing me with two nieces and a nephew, while my younger brother has also given me a nephew. Family means the world to me, along with my love for cats and dogs.

My Passion for Writing and Spider-Man
Writing has always been my hidden strength. Though I never excelled academically, I discovered my knack for essay writing in college while studying business. This newfound confidence carried me to the best grades in my class and led me to pursue a degree in journalism. Spider-Man has been a significant part of my life since childhood. While I admire the character for his heroics, it’s the man behind the mask—his ideals, struggles, and perseverance—that truly resonate with me.

Through my journalism studies, I picked up various skills that have helped me develop into a more complete writer, though I know I’m still very much learning. After my commitment in China, I aim to return to the UK to pursue a master’s degree, and I also aspire to develop my photography skills, adding another layer to my storytelling.
